It's Summer indeed here in the Philippines. The temperature reaches to more than 30 degrees Celsius. Most people are now heading to the famous summer destination in the Philippines such as Boracay, Cebu, Palawan, CDO, and etc... And also some are traveling internationally. But, what if you are one of the few who has a limited budget or time to go to those places? Worry no more because here are my top three (3) ideas on how to beat the "summer heat"!
First, try the Philippines most famous Halo-Halo! You can find this almost every where here in the Philippines or you can do it yourself. It's a combination of sweetened banana, sweet potato, kidney beans, mongo beans, nata de coco, gulaman, sago, pinipig, macapuno, ube, leche flan, crushed iced, sugar and milk and sometimes to make it more special you can add a scoop of ice cream on top.
Secondly, since the Philippines is a tropical country, I am pretty sure that local resorts are almost everywhere too! Check out some of your local resorts, you don't need to travel too far from home which will cost you more time and money. Most of these resorts offer a day and over-night stay. Which will only cost you 500 to 7,500 PHP per night plus 150-200 PHP entrance fee per head. The nice part in staying in these local resorts is that you can bring your own food and drinks inside and sometimes they will provide you stove and refrigerators to be able to cook and store you food. Also sometimes you can rent videoke machines and charcoal griller too!
Last but not the least, Make your own ICE CANDY! all you need is to be more creative in doing an ice candy. The cheapest way I know is you'll make ice candy using powdered juices or chocolate. But, I strongly suggest to use any available fruits you have in making ice candy because it's more healthier and delicious. You just need to blend your chosen fruits, milk and sugar. If you also want an extra income you can sell these ice candy from 3-5 php each.
Remember that sometimes we don't really need to spend a lot of money to enjoy summer. All we need is just a little imagination and creativity.
Have an awesome SUMMER! Keep it COOL!
